Gfxfree.com is a site for Free 3d models, textures and other 3D and 2D resources by artists around the world. In short its a Global Community of 3D artists. This site has various sections like

1. Personal Profile Page: You can maintain your profile, personal details, photo albums, video gallery, make friends, send personal messages between friends as well as live chat between friends etc.

2. Forums: You can discuss on various topics and contribute your valuable ideas and knowledge with everyone.

3. 3D Models and Textures: You can download free 3d models and textures for your own use as well you can upload your own models and share your valuable work with the community.

We have introduced points system to encourage users for thier valuable participation in this site. Also to avoid other sites from publishing models taken from here. What to do with the points?... the following sections will give you the detail about points system and how it works.

These guidelines apply to all registered users and to all sections of this site.

Points System

As a guest user you may view the site but you will not be able to participate in Forum discussions or download 3d models. We have introduced the points system to encourage the registered users who participate in various activities of this site. Users who register on our site will be awarded points for the following activities.

a. 2 points will be awarded for succesful User Registration.

b. 2 Points will be awarded for successful upload of avatar image at the profile page. Points for avatar image is awarded for the first time when a user uploads the image . If avatar image is changed later it will not be considered.

c. 1 point will be awarded for opening a New topic in the Forums.

d. 1 point will be awarded for replying in the forums.

e. 10 points will be awarded for every model uploaded. (Points for model upload has specific guidelines, see 3D Model Submission below)

3D Model Submission

Users can submit models using the Submit File link at the 3d models page. Do not submit copyrighted works of others, also do not submit models readily available from other free 3d model sites.

1.Only registered users can submit models.

2. Upload models with atleast 2 screenshot of the model, with detailed description regarding the model.

3. Models without screenshot or description will not be published.

• Description must include: Model resolution or quality, details about textures included like diffuse, normal etc, 3d formats included.

3. Models uploaded will be moderated before publishing it.

4. Points will be awarded only when the model is published. Default of 10 points will be awarded for the published model + Bonus points based on the quality of the model.

Point Scale:

Lowpoly model : 20 Bonus points.

• Lowpoly Model with UVW mapping and textures. (Quad or Tri faces)

Medium Quality model: 50 Bonus points.

• Detailed model with textures, UVW mapping or standard materials and shaders (Quad or tri faces)

High Quality models: 100 Bonus points.

• High Resolution, detailed models, subdivisional meshes, High resolution textures etc. (Quad faces)

3D Models Download

1. Models can be downloaded only by registered users.

2. Models that costs certain number of points will be deducted from the points you gathered.

3. If you have points less than the points required to download the model, then you will not be able to download the model.

Forum Rules

1. Only Registered user can post on forums.

2. 1 point will be awarded for starting a new topic or replying in the forum.

3. Starting a new topic or replying in the forum must be relevant to the topic. Please do not post spams, do not start topics or reply with the intention to gather points.

4. Forum is moderated, and users who is flooding the system with irrelevant topics, spams or posts abusive in nature will be banned.

5. Respect every user on the forum.

Do not upload or post links that is of abusive nature or offensive content on profile page, photo album, or video section.

Do not post serial codes, cracks or links to the same on any part of the site.  

Users without respect for other users on this site, or abusing any part of this site will be permanently banned.
